"One must imagine Sisyphus happy"

--- Albert Camus

Sisyphus is a performance installation that wrestles with the weight we bear and the pressures we face interpreted, though the myth of Sisyphus. A perfectly balanced 6 meter long see-saw sits in a sea of white space, at its base a mound of 80 kilograms of black coal. Over two hours Quinn travelled across this see-saw as black cloaked figures filled his costume with lumps of coal. Designed to be something audience's could enter and leave as they saw fit, the majority of the audience sat, transfixed for two hours, and watched as Quinn's movement specificity deteriorated under the physical weight he was carrying.
